I don't think they're handing out their recipe...lol
Probably one of the best authentic Italian dining experiences left in Brooklyn
I heard about this place drove all the way from Staten island to Brooklyn, not crazy about this
Have been eating here for years! The food is delicious! I Still come back here after I moved
Have been going to this place from when I was a kid, never disappoints, great food and service.
Best Sicilian food in Brooklyn. Must try the spaghetti with cauliflower sauce. It's delicious. Make sure you sprinkle some of the toasted bread crumbs they bring on the side. Yum!
I honestly enjoyed their dishes and customer service, awesome location right next to my house. The cashiers are always very welcoming. Will come back again.
Best Sicilian food you can eat
This place has potential to be good, however, you can tell it is very poorly managed. Horrible service. The waitress acted like she was doing me a favor. When asking for a wine list, I was told they don’t have one and I could get up and look at the bottles they had. Seriously? When asking for the pasta Al Dente, she was very annoyed, saying “it would take time”. Some people just aren’t meant for the service industry. Food was surprisingly ok , reason for the 2 stars.
First rate Italian dishes with many Sicilian specialties. Always cooked fresh with home made charm! Casual dining. No white table clothes here (Thank God!)... Always a feast for one or bring your whole crew... I happily make the trip from Manhattan on the F Train. It's definitely worth the trip... And when you're craving Linguine with White Clam Sauce, Broccoli Rabe, or Rice Balls you just gotta go! Waitstaff is always smart, efficient, and polite... I heartily recommend Joe's of Avenue U!
Amazing food best pasta. I mean the tomatoes sauce is to die for. We order baked clams the pulp and calamari salad. The chicken soup was soooooo good. And the warm bread with butter was so delightful. In total we spend $68. If you go to olive garden you probably end up spending more and the food isn't even that good. The waitress was so attentive and made sure our dining experience went smooth. Really recommended as a date and family outing lovely environment
Wonderful food with great service.
Great service
Sea urchin pasta yum
Food is alright. Wouldn't consider it Authentically Italian. Will definitely not be coming back
Service and food was excellent. Big piece of Salmon in sauce with string beans was delicious. Our waitress was professional and accommodating. Other people at my table loved the Eggplant Parmigana. All in all,a great experience.
Sausage..excellentRice Balls..excellent
If you don’t mind being served cold food by miserable people. This place is for you.
I have lived in Massachusetts for more than 30 years, and there isn't a week that goes by that I don't think of Joe's. It is just the best if you want authentic Sicilian food. If you don't know any better, go get educated with an arancini and panelle special.
Love this place. They make great Italian food. My favorite are the baked clams and the artichokes. Many people go there for their rice ball special. The octopus salad is also very tasty. I don't think I've eaten anything there I haven't liked.
Original place for sicilian street food in Brooklyn. Stop in for some really good snacks . The rice balls are on point as well as the fresh selection of seafood salads.
Since the original owner passed away and the wife sold it. It has been down hill.It looks like 2 other owners now. The line used to be outside the door. Now the place is almost empty.
Looooove this place! I come all the way from Jersey just to get vastedda! Highly recommended!!!
Delicious service was great i love this place
Long time local Sicilian spot.. Fresh and delicious.. Decor needs updating. Known for the rice balls and Sicilian specialties.
Pasta are delicious, atmosphere is good & prices are OK.
Service ruins what could be a good Sunday afternoon spot for Sicilian food lovers. Ragazzi, get a new wait staff if you want to remain in business!
This is my absolute favorite place to dine when I visit Brooklyn, since 2008! The food and service are always superb! My favorites are the Rice Ball Special and the Panelle.
"Very happy with the service good food I ate the seafood the staff is very friendly
Wonderful Sicilian atmosphere. Great customer service at the counter. Never ate here. I order only pick up, very friendly employees.
Always excellent food and service
Great food and service. Always go back at least once or twice a week.
Best food, lovely and professional employees!
DJ Suds is the best in town and the bartenders and regulars make you feel very welcome.
You just can't get a better rice ball.
Wow, the food was amazing and the place is immaculate. The owner was also easygoing and friendly. Can't wait to return!
Small place but the food was very good, authentic Sicilian dishes that arent readily available everywhere. Pleasant staff, I would go back just for the panelle.
.Their panella special is the best around. I have been coming here for at least 30 years and they are consistently delicious!I live in Pennsylvania now and was going be driving by so I called the night before to preorder afew. I asked for them to prepare them but not toast them so I could bake and eat them hot. I got there at 11 am and my order was waiting. Try them you won't be sorry you did.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Food is always wonderful and the service is warm & friendly
Food was great, prices were high, especially considering the menu that was on Google's site, that isn't their menu. Attempted to put correct menu to page, it make work hopefully.
Great traditional Sicilian food at a reasonable price and served with a smile. Love my vastedi, panelle, and mussles in red sauce. All delicious.
Good meal, very nice staff. It’s different than normal Italian as it’s Sicilian, which is a good thing, has a different flair to it. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Prices were also reasonable.
A Brooklyn tradition, great food and a must go to place whenever we come through NY
Can never go wrong with the polpo salad and rice ball special!
Panelle are the best! Favorite from my childhood💜So well worth the trip from Long Island.
Awesome place.
If you've never been, it's worth the trip. There are unique Sicilian dishes you never see other places. I had the vastedda which I grew up on. It's delicious. Don't ask where it's from! Prices are reasonable, it's a local crowd, come to Joe's before it's another victim of changing demographics.
Cool place. Tasty food. Friendly personnel
Top of the line.
Old school Sicilian cuisine, lovingly prepared and served by knowledgeable and friendly waitresses. This place has been there since the 60s for good reason.
